Common questions
What do I need to use the app?
A Run·dere server. The app is a companion to a self-hosted server and doesn't store your trips anywhere else. A public demo server you can try without setting anything up is on the way.
How do I connect to my server?
On the sign-in screen, tap the server button, then Add. Enter your server's address and choose how the app should trust its certificate: a public certificate, your own certificate authority, or a pinned certificate for a bare IP address. Tap Test connection, then sign in.
“Test connection” fails
- Check the address, including
https://and any port number. - If your server uses your own certificate authority, choose that trust mode and install its root certificate on the device.
- Make sure the device can reach the server, for example that you're on the same network or connected to your VPN.
Can I use the app offline?
Yes, for reading. The app keeps a read-only copy of your trips on the device. Making changes, capturing and writing journal entries need a connection to your server.
How do I remove my data?
Sign out in Settings to clear your saved session and the offline copy on the device, or delete the app to remove everything it stored. Your trips themselves live on your server; delete them there. See the privacy policy for details.
